Sunday

Good Evening All! I have been in Charlotte since Thursday evening, but am now back in Clinton for a short stay. Cindy has appointments on Tuesday morning, and I plan to go back up for the appointment with the radiation oncologist, and we will see how things go from there. The recovery trail continues to be a slow ride this go-round, and Cindy has had recurring muscle spasms this weekend. I suspect that some of the impetus for the spasms, in addition to the fact that these are typically part and parcel of back surgery, is her activity, which has increased this weekend. In addition to her therapy yesterday, we went outside (she was in her wheel chair and I was pushing her). We repeated that scenario today. The weather was just beautiful with a nice breeze blowing yesterday, and it was just as pretty today, just quite a bit warmer. Please see the adventurers below.

I don't know how the photographer managed to get in that last picture. He must have long arms, and it's beginning to look like his hair is coming back.......all the way back. Anyway, that sure is a pretty girl in the blue and green outfit isn't it? This area is just outside the main entrance to Carolinas Medical Center. Prior to our going out, our friends, Dave and Debbie came for a visit. They continue to be such a blessing and an encouragement to us. They have certainly made this lengthy out-of-town stay much more tolerable for both Cindy and I. We do not yet know when Cindy's radiation will begin, or when she may be coming home. Hopefully, we will have a number of questions answered on Tuesday, and will advise all of our prayer partners. You have all been so faithful with your thoughts and prayers, and I really don't know where we would be without God's grace and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please continue to pray for wisdom for Cindy's doctors and other attendants, for healing for Cindy, for travel mercies for me, and for endurance, strength, courage, and wisdom for both of us. God bless each of you!

How sweet! LOVE seeing the pictures! Glad you both got to enjoy some sunshine together.

My sister-in-law's baby, Lyla, was born last night about 11 pm! They are doing well. I was actually on-call for work all day and never had to go in, so I hope to see mom and the new baby a few min. tonight.

Look forward to hearing how the week goes for you and Cindy and we do continue to pray.

Love,
Maria
P.S. I know Cindy loves babies so maybe when you are back with her this week you can show her the ones I post on the blog. =)

Love the pictures! Boy she sure is working hard...and always managing to keep that smile. I am so glad that the two of you were able to step outside for a breath of fresh air....There is a country song-- I saw God today ---seeing those pictures made me think of it!
I wanted to share todays devotion from my Jesus Calling devotional book:
I AM THE ETERNAL I AM; I always have been, and I always will be. In my presence you experience Love and Light, Peace and Joy. I am intimately involved in all your moments, and I am training you to be awaare of me at all times. Your assignment is to collaborate with Me in this training process.

I have taken up residence within you; I am central in your innermost being. Your mind goes off in tangents from its holy Center, time after time. Do not be alarmed by your inablity to remain focused on Me. Simply bring your thoughts gently back to Me each time they wander. The quickest way to redirect your mind to Me is to whisper My Name.

Love you guys!

My dear Cindy and Dan, I've been praying for you this morning and for God's blessings on you both. As I look at these pictures, I know that He is. Cindy you are simply gorgeous! I hope that I get to see you soon. Take care and have a good week. I'm dogsitting my granddog "Jace" this week. He loves Randi, but they drive me nuts! I know you're missing your little Lucy and she can hardly wait to see her Mommie! Love you. BELIEVE always! Rene'
